TheDark Knight Rises, the most eagerly anticipated film of the year comes to a close and raises the bar amazingly high for future superhero movies. This show piece by Christopher Nolan captivates the audience with it’s brilliant plot, heart-pounding suspense, astounding cinematic effects and the dazzling and hearty performance from all the members of the cast. The Batman trilogy which started with Batman Begins, followed by The Dark Knight is capped off brilliantly with The Dark Knight Rises. This will have to go down as one of the best cinematic trilogies in Hollywood history.
Some
say film adaptations are the most difficult films to make. One has to capture
the very essence of a well-loved book or series to please the cinema goers. Adaptations are like interpretations of the
written words by a filmmaker who has to cater to the taste of a bigger crowd.
Looking back over the years, it is obvious that some have found success in both
forms (e.g. Harry Potter, Twilight etc.), while some have failed.

in a tight suit is really all you need to get a 5 star rated movie by director
Joss Whedon. In order to avoid any spoilers and
anguish in this review, the plot is simple, Samuel L Jackson reprises his role
as Nick Fury who gathers up the unique individuals to help save the Earth from
mad crazy Loki.
People nowadays are obsessed with books about
vampires and were wolves. ( And yes, I am talking about a certain vampire,
werewolf, human love triangle romance saga.)What happened to reading books with
actual plotlines and character development? Do teenagers have bad taste in
books or are there just really low quality books being published these days? I
could rant about the standard of books out there but that would mean another
really looong article so I shall save that for another time. Instead I shall
delve into the regency world of an all-time favourite classic, “Pride and
Prejudice”. Why? It is because in order for us to improve and move forward we
have to learn from history.
What
happens when a cell phone keeps ringing in front of you, unanswered, its owner
completely ignorant of its endless ringing? What would you do when you find out
the cell phone’s owner is unconscious? Sarah Ruhl’s play “Dead Man’s Cell
Phone” revolves around such a situation. The spotlight is on its main
character, a young woman named Jean whose life changes after answering a call
on a dead man’s cell phone. After which, she is taken on a series of random
events which eventually reconnects her to her spiritual world, albeit in a very
quirky manner.
“You are a wizard Harry”, “The boy who lived”, “The Chosen One”.
Now I think it’s a safe bet for me to say that practically everybody who’s anybody knows those quotes like the back of their hand. No? Well, allow me to enlighten those of you who have not been touched by J.K Rowling’s truly magical fable.

Is that how the theme song for the franchise goes? Well, it’s all I know and it’s enough to set itself looping in my head every single time the word “transformers” is mentioned. Don’t know anything about Transformers? Optimus Prime? A world where people don’t actually get heart arrests from watching yellow Camaros transform into gigantic walking robots? Circus. A whisper of that word and almost immediately, our minds fall back into those fleeting childhood memories that Disney has painted for us. Though we don’t have Mickey Mouse prancing around other singing animals in the circus, in this motion picture, the vivid scene of a circus is very much similar. Trained wild animals in cages, eager crowds bustling through to get front row seats and of course, what’s a circus without the ridiculously enormous white tent.

Outright hilarious, scandalous and outrageous scenes, ‘Get Him to the Greek’ has it all. The director, Nicholas Stoller also directed the romance comedy of ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’. In this movie, anything and everything is possible. Have you ever seen a white man give birth to an African child?
Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with girl. Underdogs face insurmountable odds, and crush them with pride and aplomb amidst show-stopping choreography, usually found in the form of either street dancing or ballroom dancing. An end and reconciliation on a purely satisfactory note is reached. Immediately, Step Up and Honey come to mind. No, we are definitely not strangers to “dance movies”.
Movies pertaining to dreams and intuitions are somewhat eccentric and usually need a little processing from viewers. Inception definitely falls under this class as it questions what’s real and what isn’t. You really can’t look away from this film, nor should you.
