TCSH Open Day June 2010
Ever since its opening in 2008, parents and students have been eager to explore Taylor’s College Sri Hartamas (TCSH) with the high hopes of an education that promises the same academic excellence that the other Taylor’s institutions’ have established
On the 19th and 20th of June, Taylor’s held an open day allowing the public to experience the remarkable standard of learning and teaching offered at TCSH.
Throughout the two days, several inquisitive parents and students came to TCSH to learn about what we have to offer. The two days consisted of numerous lectures about the different pre-university studies available as well as tips for studying abroad and personal development workshops.
On Saturday 19th, a presentation on each of the different pre-university options namely Cambridge A-levels (CAL), South Australian Matriculation (SAM) and International Baccalaureate (IB)) were discussed with the interested students and parents. Each presentation gave parents and students an overview of each course, allowing them to decide if the course was suitable or not for them. After each presentation, parents and students were encouraged to ask any question they had about the course or the college in general. The positive feedback and the constant questioning from the students and their parents was a clear sign of their interest in the college and its courses.
Moreover, a workshop entitled ‘Personal Development Plan – Paving Your Ways to Success at Taylor’s Pre-U’ was carried out for prospective students and their parents. This workshop encouraged students to explore and recognize their personal abilities and use their specific skills successfully to enhance their learning. Parents were also given the opportunity to discuss their child’s future and the possibility of studying abroad with a counselor. The counseling enabled parents to realize the importance of an international and well-rounded education that can only be offered at TCSH.
Current students also helped out by providing assistance to the prospective students and their parents by ushering them around the college, showing them the modern and stylish facilities, and sharing their personal experience of being a student at TCSH.
Through presentations and discussions with TCSH’s staff and current students, prospective students and their parents were able to not only witness but experience the life of a TCSH student and appreciate the unique and remarkable learning environment that could only be offered at Taylor’s.
The overall attitude of TCSH was a positive one. The ultra modern interior design and friendly and fun environment attracted many prospective students while the remarkable range of extra curricular activities and academic achievement that surpassed the average achievement around the world impressed their parents and provided solid evidence of the high standard of teaching, learning and dedication available only at TCSH.
