Farewell and Welcome
A new year means new beginnings. And for us, it means a brand new Editorial Board. Before we pass on the baton, we, Thivya and June would like to thank the previous year’s board for the absolutely stunning magazine that all of us worked together to create. We would also like to thank our teacher advisors, Ms Sakun, Ms Salina, Ms Sharon, Mr Josh, Mr Thina and Ms Dachaini for always being supportive.
Having a small team of 27 members made us more close knit and without that, work would have been harder. Managing both the Beacon Online and the print version of the Beacon was no easy feat especially with the tight deadlines and looming exams. However, we did it. And for our part, we could not be any prouder of the work we produced.
The people who were involved are as follows:
• Editor: Thivyabanu Sivasubramaniam
• Sub-editor: June Lee
• Online editor: Bryan Quah
• Online sub-editor: Michelle Veriah
• Secretary: Sharon Moo
• Head of Events: Ong Yoong Jian
• Head of Photography: Kong Seng Kin
• Photography:
• Head of Events Writers: Michelle Veriah
• Events Writers:
• Head of Graphics: Jasmine Tan
• Graphic Designers:
• Head of Creative Writing: Eleasha Chew Sue Yuen
• Writers:
It was a pleasure and an honour to have worked with all of you. But now, it’s time for new faces and a fresh start.
We would like to welcome the new board of 2014 and wish you all the best of luck. Heads up to all the newbies, the deadlines can be tight and the workload will sometimes be a bit much. Above all, it will be entertaining and teach you a lot of new things. Sometimes, you might re-learn something you had forgotten. As long as you enjoy what you are doing and like the people you are working with, it will be alright. We can’t wait to see what you guys will do for Editorial Board in your term!
From the team of 2013, we bid you farewell, it was a good run.
