Look Book: Spring 2014 Fashion
Spring is finally here and we’ve got a lot of edgy trends and looks off the runways of the Spring 2014 fashion shows that have inspired us to start planning our outfits. Even though Malaysia constantly has hot and humid weather, we try our best to stay on top of the trends.
This year shows a comeback in icy pastels such as mint and ice blue with hints of pink getting into the mix. Black and white continue to be classics you can never go wrong with. Along with that, orange has turned out to be the colour of the year as it’s featured in many designers’ collections.
Rich and vibrant shades of orange are featured in the Spring 2014 collections of noted designers such as Monique Lhuillier and Christian Siriano along with Rebecca Minkoff who also featured a few orange handbags in her collection.
The colour is also featured in shoes, accessories and makeup. However, designer Elie Saab took a different turn with his Spring/Summer 2014 Collection by featuring dark and rich colours such as teal, burgundy and black along with a few light colours such as pink and white. The whole collection blended together seamlessly showing his effortless ability to create beautiful pieces.
There are a few fashion trends that we try to keep in mind - monochrome logo pieces are a must-have in your wardrobe. Or you can choose to opt for the minimalistic side of the ‘90s by keeping it simple with browns, beiges and blacks. Lastly, don’t forget to accessorise! Metallic accessories are all the rage this year, including metallic ear cuffs. Remember ladies, accessories can add a whole new level to your outfit.
