100 Plus Road Show

Often when we think of getting an isotonic drink to quench our thirst after a long hard day, the first thing that comes to mind is 100 Plus. This is surely a testament to the enduring popularity of this drink ever since its inception. According to Fraser & Neave (the company behind 100 Plus and many other popular bottled drinks), “100 PLUS was created as an embodiment of our hope and ambition.”

“Today 100 PLUS celebrates success far beyond our imagination.”

As the market for isotonic drinks becomes increasingly saturated with other brands such as Gatorade and 7up Revive, 100 Plus had to find new ways to appeal to the masses, especially youth. In line with that, a new promotion using the power of technology was created. Visiting colleges around the Klang Valley, the 100 Plus Roving Team brought with them challenges, contests, and of course, free 100 Plus.

On the 17th of March, Taylor's College Sri Hartamas was proud to host them. The booth was set up next to the ECA office. As students streamed to see what was going on, they were approached by “walking billboards”, promoters with a screen on their backpacks playing 100 Plus commercials. Students were asked whether they would like to win an iPhone (who can say no to that?). They were told to turn on their phone's bluetooth and download an interactive game. A simple puzzle game, the fastest time can be recorded and uploaded to a server via 3G or WiFi.

There was also another contest where students could win instant prizes. The winner won movie tickets and a six-pack of 100 Plus. The main prize of the day was an iPhone. The contest runs until the 15th of April and more details can be found at http://www.facebook.com/pages/100PLUS-Outdo-Yourself/

For those of you wondering just why 100 Plus is so good for you, 100 Plus combines fluids, glucose and electrolytes to restore what is lost during physical exertion. Glucose accelerates the absorption of fluids and the electrolytes help replace minerals lost during perspiration. So, to have the best thirst quencher around, get 100 Plus. You won't regret it.
