Colours of Africa : Press Statement

Press Statement
25th January 2015

It is our greatest pleasure to announce that we have raised a total of RM26,300 through our fundraising dinner "Colours of Africa: Beyond Horizons 2015". All proceeds will go to aid the work of Generation of Leaders Discovered (GOLD) in Sub-Saharan Africa. We believe in GOLD's vision and we are thankful that you believe in us.

A big thank you to those who supported us throughsponsorship, publicity and volunteering. We would like to extend our gratitude to Taylor's College Sri Hartamas, Rotary Club of Selayang, Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur Sentul, Life Insurance, Ban Chuan Coffee Sdn Bhd, BRATs from The Star, and The Beacon from TCSH Editorial Board for promoting and contributing to a cause that united the youths of Malaysia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

It was truly amazing to see different people and organisations in our community working together to make this event possible. We are grateful for everyone who played a part in making this a success, namely our advisors, volunteer crew, performers, and emcees. We witnessed the enthusiasm and effort of a passionate team that was brought together by a noble cause. Thank you to our team for inspiring us with your responsibility and dedication.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who came to support "Colours of Africa: Beyond Horizons Fundraising Dinner 2015". "In every end, there is a new beginning." Although this might be the end of our fundraising event, but this is also a beginning of a more proactive voice in Malaysia calling for youth volunteerism and a beginning of endless possibilities for disadvantaged youths in Sub-Saharan Africa who deserve a chance to become future leaders of their generation.

Sincerely,
Friends of GOLD, Malaysia
Leo and Rotaract Club of Taylor's College Sri Hartamas
